Happy 2023! Sharing my love and knowledge of all things fiber
is the best part of my job! SlipKnits is becoming known for having
great yarns and amazing people, with fun, creative classes, as well as
a willingness to share expertise and offer help to others with various projects.
Learning new things is addictive, and I am always so excited to see students
and friends progress in their projects.  —Kim

 

SlipKnits is excited to share our love of fiber by offering classes, hosting events and venturing out for field trips. We love learning about our local fiber community and sharing about where our yarn and fibers come from. It is the upmost importance for SlipKnits to foster a strong, healthy fiber arts community where fiber folks can come together to share their lives and their fiber-related stories. 

 

The SlipKnits Flock is a mixture of yarn lovers of all ages and abilities. SlipKnits is a safe space where everyone feels valued and supported in their crafting endeavors!  We don’t do religion or politics in our store!  And bullying is NEVER allowed! We provide a space for all people across differences of race, age, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, religion, political affiliation and socio economic background.

Flock Gathering 2023 Schedule

January - March  

Tuesday 2pm - 6pm, Wednesday 3-6:30pm,

Thursday 10:30-1

Flock membership includes:

• Access to SlipKnits Library. 

• Three hours Flock Gathering* time per week. *We require you use SlipKnits yarns during gatherings. 
   Tuesday 2pm - 6pm, Wednesday 3-6:30pm, Thursday 10:30-1            

• Limited help is available during Flock Gathering, but if you need a lot of instruction,
  a private lesson is a better option

• 15% discount on yarn of the month

• Rental of SlipKnits equipment and tools

• Invitations and/or discounts for outside adventures, guest speakers and yarn tastings.

Private lessons: We are happy to schedule private lesson with you at a rate of $25 per hour. Or, if you and a friend want to schedule a different group class time, we’ll do our best to accommodate.

 

Special Groups: Working with groups is very fun and inspiring!  Reach out and let's talk!

SERVICE PROJECT(S):

KNITTED KNOCKERS: If you are interested in helping, we have yarn and the updated pattern at the store!

Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable, beautiful hand knit or crocheted to a woman's breast size 

and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. Our special volunteer knitters provide these FREE to those requesting them. JOIN US! It is the perfect place and time for support and assistance with fiber related issues.
